Piano Tuning | Starts at $210Most domestic pianos need tuning twice a year. Some pianos may need tuning more often according to the make, condition, ambient conditions and how often and how hard it is played. Regardless all pianos need tuning at least once a year to maintain pitch and stability. Pianos that have been regularly maintained should take around 45 minutes to an hour to tune. Pitch Raising | $400 It is not uncommon for tuners to have to pitch-raise pianos when one or more of the following conditions exist: (1) The piano has gone too long between tunings, (2) adverse humidity or temperature changes, (3) new strings, (4) the piano has just been moved, or (5) the piano has not been maintained at proper pitch. String Replacement | Starts at $50 per string Cost depends on whether the string is a wound string from the bass section of the piano, or a plain music wire. In the event that your piano is an antique, bass string samples would be taken and sent away for duplication by my expert partners. If your piano is modern, I may be able to order the string replacement from the correct manufacturer. Custom Action Regulation | Starts at $1500 Depending on which of the following is necessary: Key Level & Dip, Key Travel, Hammer Travel, Touch Sensitivity, Power, Repetition, After Touch Damper Regulation | $695 Damper Pedal Travel, Touch Weight, Timing & Aftertouch - In you home or concert hall Voicing | $450 Voiced to a Steinway Voicing Block - In Home Complete Regulation | Starts at $3800 Comprehensive bench regulation: also Includes Action Regulation, Damper Regulation, and Voicing. Does not include cost of new parts. A complete regulation is a meticulous operation. There are over a dozen adjustments for each of the 88 notes, arguably about 46 attitudes that I have found to address the geometry to suit a players personal style or desire for touch. |
